EXCLUSIVE: Heads up anyone on tour in future with Sydney punks SoSo; here's the band's dream rider!
The sky's abundantly the limit for Sydney punks SoSo, with some effortless pop punk on display on the anthemic Skywriter which released late last week. Equal parts heart-rending and uplifting, Skywriter furthers the SoSo story of punchy punk and memorable pop tendencies served with lashings of polish and potency, with blazing arrangements building to a triumphant key change that'll assure you everything will actually be alright.
Collaborating with Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, RedHook, Yours Truly) on producing and mixing duties, SoSo present one of their most sonically mature outings to date with Skywriter; so what better time to suss out what the Sydney quartet would chuck on their dream rider as live music continues to slowly creep back on the cards after the trash-fire run of 2020 so far. From a room full of "fans" to essential viewing (and some beer choices that will ensure The Soundcheck will never ever be a SoSo Rider Spider), come check out SoSo's "Dream" Rider below.
ONE FREE BEER TOKEN PER BAND MEMBER (HOUSE BEERS ONLY… PLASTIC CUPS)
Just kidding. Seriously though, we get that live music isn’t as profitable as a room full of Brickies Laptop’s but if you’re going to offer that up as a rider, at least let us sneak a couple Double Blacks down our daks.
ROOM FULL OF PEDESTAL FANS
So, when anyone comes looking for us pre-show, we can have our manager say we’re in the green room with a bunch of fans.
1 x 24 PACK OF GREAT NORTHERN
Just in case there’s a BBQ we have to clean. As the advert says, “The Beer for Up Here”. As long as “Up Here” means nowhere near me.
VHS COPY OF SHANE WARNE'S SLEDGING HIGHLIGHTS
If anyone can think of a better way to get amped up for a show… You’re wrong. For bigger shows we may substitute this out for Mitch Johnson’s best bumpers compilation. If we’re going for a more serious vibe, ya feel?
FRIENDLYJORDIES DOING YILMAZ'S “SEX MONEY POWER” ON REPEAT
This one also requires a Goblet Drum to be present which technically could be considered its own item, but for the purposes of this list we’ll group the two.
