MUSIC NEWS: Brisbane Unites is set to rock your socks off

Out of the utter heartbreak and tragedy surrounding the ongoing Aussie bushfires, small glimmers of hope continue to persevere, and the ongoing support and generosity from people all over the globe and in local communities has been staggering - and Brisbane is no exception, rounding up some of its best rock and metal bands for a day of fundraising and solidarity with Brisbane Unites throwing down on Saturday April 18.

Bringing together an eye-watering lineup of some of Brisbane's best and brightest heavy bands, Brisbane Unites will take over the iconic Mansfield Tavern for a day of killer tunes and unity for one very important cause: to raise much needed funds for those tragically affected by the ongoing bushfires around the country.

Music is a platform that will always draw people together and as we see our country burning, at a time when so many feel so helpless, let’s use live music to unite and give what we can to help those in need. Brisbane Unites presser

With all proceeds (including all booking fees donated by Oztix) going directly to worthy causes, Brisbane Unites have not only pledged donations to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal, but also the Bushfire Trauma/Mental Health Support gofundme started by Magda Szubanski and Will Connolly. Whilst a lot of charities are working tirelessly to help all affected right now, these trauma and mental health charities have been set up to help AFTER the fires have settled. The trauma caused by these fires will sadly linger long after the last fire has burnt out, and Magda Szyvabsju and Will "Eggboy" Connolly have teamed up with organisations like Beyond Blue to raise money to aid ongoing mental health support for those affected.

The Brisbane Unites Bushfire Fundraiser will be held at Mansfield Tavern across two stages, with tickets on-sale now HERE. Tickets are $30 + booking fee, with ALL money going to the above charities, including booking fees. Doors open at 12pm with the first band onstage at 1:10pm. Full set times TBA.

UNITED, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TOGETHER, WE CAN HELP. WITH MUSIC, WE CAN SING OUR SUPPORT TO THOSE IN NEED.
