MUSIC NEWS: Eat Your Heart Out Are On The Up With Brand New Single 'Down'

Hailing from Newcastle and already well-versed in the ways of alt-pop sorcery, Eat Your Heart Out, consisting of Caitlin Henry on vocals, Will Moore on guitar, Dom Cant on bass and Jake Cronin on drums, are surging into the latter half of 2022 with new material following a few years between sonic drinks since their 2019 full-length Florescence was unveiled.

Already in command of millions of streams and critical acclaim, Eat Your Heart Out have also previously shared stages with the likes of Trophy Eyes, Hands Like Houses, Knuckle Puck and Real Friends, and turned their gaze during the pandemic's infancy in 2020 to writing new material.

While 2022 has still been a shaky one for many in and around the music industry, Eat Your Heart Out are steadfastly sowing the seeds towards a furture sophomore album release via Fearless Records, seen vividly late last week with the release of their scathing and emphatic anti-anthem to the vapid validation of social media via Down.

"The lyrics were inspired by the idea of social media addiction, and specifically, when you're comparing yourself to others or see a negative comment about yourself or your art from some random person on the Internet and you know you shouldn't give it any weight, but sometimes, you do it anyway. You always come out feeling worse, but it's so easy to become addicted to the quick validation of social media." - Eat Your Heart Out

Featuring the group experimenting with different guitar tones and heavier flourishes, Down is a firm showcase of a band entirely on the up; and here's hoping it's not long before even more new material finds its way into the world from these talented Novocastrians.
