MUSIC NEWS: Hollywood's calling on the latest Thornhill track & big album news

It's raining Thornhill news today and we genuinely couldn't be happier, with a new track and video, album details and some live show confirmations as well.

Confirming the heavily anticipated news that the new Thorny album Heroine will officially drop on June 3 via UNFD, today also brings a lush and razor-sharp outing via the quintet's latest track Hollywood.

Traversing a doomed relationship and fortuitous meetings linked to, you guessed it, Hollywood, the new track bustles with moody aesthetics, cascading beats and gooey textures as the Thornhill glow-up continues with gusto, steadily helmed by frontman Jacob Charlton and his vocal hypnotics,

"The premise of this song follows a protagonist, who is coming to terms with being in love with another girl he’s just met while still being in a relationship that has been slowly falling apart around him. This one in a million encounter with someone who has changed his entire world in a matter of glances is the theme we follow throughout the song until he finally builds the courage to say it out loud. He makes little decisions, puts his current partner in a bad light to make himself feel like he’s in the right and calls her names as she begs him to announce his true feelings for someone he’s met on their trip to Hollywood.”

- Jacob Charlton

Gifting a follow up to the acclaimed 2019 outing The Dark Pool, Heroine is only set to further sharpen the riffs and ambient metalcore at the core of the Thornhill ethos, while also promising to build on flavours from the alternative and rock worlds, embracing everything from Smashing Pumpkins to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Silverchair and Deftones. A melting pot of modernity and nods to some of the most iconic alt-icons of the very recent past? Sign me the hell up!

And as if that wasn't enough news for one day, Thornhill have also unleashed an accompanying music video for Hollywood (which you can spy below) which saw Charlton embracing his inner-Elvis confidence at times to truly immerse himself into this latest Thornhill chapter. And did somebody say live shows? Yes, Thornhill did, and they'll be busting out some special preview shows, performing the new album Heroine live and in full with special guests in March.
