After a seven year absence, Northern Irish rockers The Answer have answered the prayers of fans around the globe, confirming a brand new full length album Sundowners - and with the album releasing on March 17, aka Saint Patrick's Day, it doesn't get more Irish than this!
Recording in 2022, and marking the first time the quartet had been in a studio together since 2015, Sundowners is set to gift a plethora of the Downpatrick group's trademark hard rock; but with a significant, hell-raising glow up many years in the making.
Recent singles Blood Brother, Want You To Love Me and Livin' On The Line have already dished up a tantalising entree to what lies in store on March 17 when the group unleash their brand new LP. And while the visceral vocals, flurried riffs and swaggering rock'n'roll trappings are all definitely in attendance on Sundowners, the group's hiatus has certainly enhanced ever further on the matured and more measured persuasions last seen on 2016's Solas.
“We’ve been through a lot as a band, toured the world, made six great records we’re all proud of, and always done our best to make honest and timeless music that connects with rock and music fans in general," vocalist Cormac Neeson recently shared in the band's press material. "After six albums and a lot of road miles we felt we needed to step back from it all and reset. Whilst that wasn’t an easy decision, with retrospect it’s possibly the best decision we’ve ever made because after seven years away we all came back fired up and the end result is an album we’ve been waiting to make our whole lives…full of good time rock n roll and positive energy created by four brothers who quite frankly just really missed each other. We’re back and we’re ready to bring our best album ever to you!”
Releasing on Golden Robots Records, with its very founder Mark Alexander-Erber playing a pivotal role in bringing Sundowners to life and fulfilling a lifelong ambition to sign the group, this brand new album from The Answer will also be available in a variety of epic formats, including colour vinyl exclusives and a 12" fan collectible picture disc. Cop this brand new corker of an album on the most Irish day of the year, Saint Patrick's Day and enjoy a hell of a ride! More info below.
