SINGLE REVIEW: Dopamine (WILDER)

SINGLE: Dopamine ARTIST: Wilder

Dopamine may be responsible for some of our more questionable habits as a species, but for Sydney indie rockers Wilder it's the namesake for a divine new single swarming with interlaced harmonies and warm textures that dropped into the world late last week.

For anyone already accustomed with this soul-soothing bunch, 'Dopamine' treads familiar territory with its anthemic pulsations and achingly raw lyrics - but in this case familiarity definitely does not breed contempt, with the track picking up where the group left off with previous single 'Ghosts' and leaping into a confident and billowy universe that would quite easily also play home to the likes of Gang of Youths and Bon Iver.

Wilder are certainly starting the new year with a triumphant blast with 'Dopamine', and with whispers of a tour and more to come you can bet your bottom dollar that this is just the beginning of some beautiful adventures for the boys. 'Dopamine' is out now in all the usual places, and if you're lucky enough to live in Sydney you can catch the guys officially launching it at the Oxford Art Factory later this month.
