SINGLE REVIEW: Double Life (SHAG ROCK)
SINGLE: Double Life ARTIST: Shag Rock
Treat yourself to the creamy delights of Brissie indie rockers Shag Rock and their delightful new track 'Double Life' that popped to life last week.
After a rollercoaster few months on the road in Queensland with The Rubens and Tia Gostelow culminating in the theft of a bunch of gear from their tour van, there would be fair cause for a bit of doom and gloom from this quartet - but misery isn't a word in the Shag Rock dictionary, and 'Double Life' is a sunny, affable expansion and evolution from their 2017 debut full-length 'Barefoot'.
Pumped full of tumbling guitars and vocal whimsy, 'Double Life' embraces some striking surf rock vibes with a savvy pop backbone - in short, it's an energetic bliss bomb that glides along like the perfect wave as the sun goes down, and you'll be hard pressed to stop those toes from tapping.
With more new tunes and the promise of new musical territory in store, the second half of 2018 isn't going to be quiet for the Shag Rock lads - and as of last Friday they've also kicked off their 'Double Life' East Coast Tour, so if you need some summery vibes to keep you warm, be sure to head along! In the meantime, check out 'Double Life' below.
