SINGLE REVIEW: Girl (MUFARO)

SINGLE: Girl // ARTIST: Mufaro

Zimbabwe-born, Melbourne-based R&B/Soul artist Mufaro promises the world with his soft and sleek new ballad 'Girl' that officially dropped earlier this week.

Coming off a huge 2018, with an EP release, festival debut a Jungle Love, a QUBE Effect People's Choice win and more, 2019 appears to be the year that Mufaro takes his momentum up a gear with a brand new, self-produced track 'Girl' that ultimately expands on his previous jazz and afro-soul leanings.

Evoking nostalgic hip hop stylings with fluid vocals and breezy instrumentals, Mufaro's soul spirit soars while lyrically pouring his heart out to the woman of his dreams, as the man himself explains: “The song is used as a romantic plead to a woman, to let ME have the pleasure of being the man who gets to love her, all the while reminding her just how lovely she is".

Also teaming up with newcomer D-Lane on guest vocals, Mufaro's latest jaunt is a love letter not only to the eponymous girl, but to some nostalgic neo-soul that shows an artist eager to evolve and unafraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.
