SINGLE REVIEW: Rock 'n' Roll Life (BEAU LIGHTNING)

SINGLE: Rock 'n' Roll Life // ARTIST: Beau Lightning

Cinematic soundscapes meet thumping rock and roll as compelling Adelaide artist Beau Lightning cleaves his way through the bullshit with his brand new track 'Rock 'n' Roll Life' out in the world today.

Recording as a one-man band, it's hard to ignore Beau Lightning (aka Eli Georgeson) and his high-octane rock and roll, and his latest release 'Rock 'n' Roll Life' is a definite high-point in an increasingly ascending career.

Hurling out with sauntering guitars and hazy tones, it's truly Lightning's interchangeable chalky industrial and silky smooth vocals that leap to the fore on 'Rock 'n' Roll Life' as Lightning narratively challenges the illusions of grandeur that accompanies the vision of the rockstar lifestyle. And from the animated fuzz à la Royal Blood and fellow stoner rockers to the booming textures, it feels safe to assume this track would feel right at home playing over the credits of some slick and edgy HBO show set in the Nevada desert.

Having already been involved in previous projects and bands from a young age, Lightning's solo material is proving to be exciting, evocative and explosively fun to wrap your ears around - and we are certainly keen to hear more from this up-and-coming rock connoisseur.
