SINGLE REVIEW: Television Hero (JACK AND THE KIDS)

SINGLE: Television Hero ARTIST: Jack and The Kids

Inject a touch of towering indie-rock into your ears via Bendigo quartet Jack and The Kids and their sweeping, synth-soaked new tune 'Television Hero'.

--

Off the back of their previous single 'Your Eyes' and jumping up on stage for the Bendigo leg of Groovin the Moo, 'Television Hero' steps into a self-assured and fluid ambience, draping agitated synths beneath swirling guitars and slouching vocals - and while their textured sounds veer closely to the likes of The Jezabels and City Calm Down, there's a definite promise of individual intent driving 'Television Hero' that endears it beyond ambient obscurity.

An ode to working hard and chasing your dreams, vocalist Jack Kennedy expands on the track, stating: "Written as a letter to somebody who may have recently failed at reaching a goal, it explores overcoming that failure and looking forward to what the future holds, rather than being stuck in a past time."

With two special launch shows on the horizon in Victoria, here's hoping Jack and The Kids continue to weave their magic in the near future - but in the meantime you can check out the track and a whole lot more below.
