SINGLE PREMIERE: Good Apples (THE ROCKEFELLER FREQUENCY)

BRISSIE INDIE ROCKERS THE ROCKEFELLER FREQUENCY FIND BEAUTY IN REDEMPTION WITH A PERKY PUNCH OF NOSTALGIA ON THEIR BRAND NEW TUNE GOOD APPLES PREMIERING RIGHT NOW ON THE SOUNDCHECK.

Recently returning from a hiatus from the musical hustle and bustle, The Rockefeller Frequency have since found their sweet spot in the local indie rock world. Combining the upbeat jaunt of The Strokes and Bloc Party with the 90s goodness of Nirvana (and a dash of Orwellian anxiety), this quartet can bust out a poppin' hook as deftly as a fraying riff, and their latest endeavour Good Apples finds them in tasteful commanding waters of rock.

Marking the third single from their upcoming debut album Chemicals due out this March, Good Apples leans into its noughties rock heritage with processed guitars and kinetic rhythmics swirling beneath the raw vocal stylings of frontman Joshua Eckersley, while also diving deeper into the hope that can come from learning from one's mistakes:

"Good Apples is a redemptive tale that starts in a very dark place, with a protagonist that has basically given up on everything. He contemplates his endless mistakes and somehow figures out how his life could be worth living, and actively seeks it out. It’s not all bad in the end, which helps in relaying these types of stories. It’s positive, but you have to work through a lot of garbage to get there, just like real life.” Joshua Eckersley - Vocals

Recording in the band's own Basement Studios in Brisbane, the Rockefeller Frequency gents have completely leaned into their punk rock DIY ethos with Good Apples, engineering and producing the track themselves along with the bulk of their forthcoming debut album material. And with some album tour dates already on the cards for March and April, life won't be slowing down anytime soon for The Rockefeller Frequency - but in the meantime you can grab an early listen to Good Apples below before it officially unveils tomorrow.
