Bringing together two of Australia's premier rock groups, Hunter Hero is a conglomoration of Zane Rosanoski (drums) and Pete Williamson (guitar) of iconic hard rockers Mammal with vocalist Rob Farnham of Rival Fire fame and international session muso Darryl 'Daz' Coppins (bass) rounding out proceedings. On paper, expectations are high, and it's little surprise that the supergroup's debut tune Better View is an exquisite little belter.
Cleaving the frenetic precision of Mammal with Farnham's potent vocals, Better View offers up a pulsing wonderland of fiery riffs, blasting rhythmics and soaring melodics as the gents hurl stunning refrains against a crushing backdrop, culminating in a whirlwind of brawling beauty.
Offering hope to those traipsing through the dark, Better View is ultimately an uplifting slice of burly yet elegant rock that brings together not just a group of prominent musos, but also a group capable of seriously shaping the Aussie rock sound as we lurch into a brand new decade. Hunter Hero have certainly hit a home run with their debut tune, and here's hoping we won't have to go hunting far for new tunes from this kickass quartet in the near future.
