Busting out a poised and polished slice of pop punk today is none other than Sydney quartet Yours Truly, unleashing their ravishing new tune Composure - and an accompanying music video to brighten your day!
For a band whose average age circles around 21, Yours Truly are a holistic success story built on honesty and boundless talent. Armed with their 2019 EP Afterglow, currently carving up over 7.5 million streams, the Sydney pop punk quartet have sturdily found themselves in heavy demand both at home and abroad, claiming eye-watering festival offers from the likes of Download UK, Riot Fest, Good Things and beyond, as well as a run of sold out hometown shows and supports alongside Sum 41, Senses Fail and State Champs.
Leaving an enormous 2019 in their wake, Yours Truly have crystallised a new era for themselves with their first 2020 venture: a brand new single Composure and a sumptuous music vid to sweeten the deal. Armed with punchy hooks and bustling riffs, Composure balances a fierce elegance with punchy pop as vocalist Mikaila Delgado cocoons the rich arrangement with increasing robust warmth. And as an extra treat for your week, Yours Truly have busted out a new clip for Composure, featuring not just some snazzy visuals, but also an intimate reach into the group's new era - and some focus on some crafting goodness (side note - how did Yours Truly know I was literally googling cross stitching last night?!).
"We really wanted the video to show off the new era of Yours Truly and to take things to the next level,"Mikaila explains, adding: "We wanted this to feel very personal and ‘hand made’ which is why stitch work and embroidery is such a feature in the video. I wanted to have us animated in the video to look like fabric so we called on our friend Georgia (Moloney) who actually created the single artwork to do it on camera!" - Mikaila Delgado
