SINGLE REVIEW: Find My Way Out (TORIZON)

SINGLE Find My Way Out // ARTIST Torizon

Brissie rockers Torizon channel frustration, nostalgic overtones and chunked-up rock into their brand new tune Find My Way Out which dropped into the world yesterday.

Recording music during a pandemic may not leap out as the most coveted mode of operation for many, but for Brissie rockers Torizon, the lockdown restrictions posed an opportunity to flesh out one of their most emotive tracks yet, with their latest single Find My Way Out springing to life yesterday in grandiose style.

Packed full of alternate picking, fluent grooves and some guest guitarwork from Robb Torres (Robbery Inc), Torizon establish their angst and anthemic whims the instant frontwoman Mish Sharma's vocals belt in, delivering a swaying outing that occasionally flounders in a muddy mix - but the end result ultimately complements the powerful thematic content:

"I wrote this song after coming out of an emotionally abusive musical relationship. I didn’t realise that I was a victim of gaslighting to the point where I prioritised keeping the peace over my physical and mental health. After ending that relationship and taking some time to reflect, I came to terms with how the abuser erodes your self esteem a little at a time in such a subtle manner that you don’t feel it happening. When you bring up your concerns, you end up getting blamed for it or accused of being overly sensitive or overreacting... I want people to know that if you find yourself in a similar situation, find your way out because you deserve love, happiness and safety” - Mish Sharm, vocals

With it's classic hard rock sways and tinges of 90s tones bellowing underneath, Find My Way Out straddles its grooves with some notable bass magic from Damien Kechagias and will no doubt go down a treat with live audiences aching for some good old rock and roll when it's finally safe to do so. For now, Torizon have bared their souls with this personal ode to empowerment for your listening pleasure, and hats must go off to the group for making the most of their COVID lockdown bringing this new tune to life.

TORIZON'S BRAND NEW TRACK FIND MY WAY OUT IS OUT NOW, WITH PLANS FORA HEAP OF SHOWS AND ALSO OVERSEAS RECORDING POST-COVID INSANITY.
