SINGLE REVIEW: Noxa (BAD MOON BORN)

SINGLE Noxa // ARTIST Bad Moon Born

Armed with a new lineup and some grittier tones, Sydney rockers Bad Moon Born catapult into 2020 with a lush new thumper of a tune in the form of Noxa.

With two EPs already lodged firmly under their belts, plus some kickass supports along the way with the likes of Skid Row, Buckcherry and Pop Evil, Sydney alt rockers Bad Moon Born have steadily evolved into a taut and dynamic force in the heavy music world. And while their previous incarnation found them turning heads and headbangers all over the place, their latest tune Noxa (the first to feature new frontman Jordan Von Grae) finds the group in fiery and brawny form.

Drawing on buzzing riffs, electronic hues and the noticeably heavier vocals couresy of Von Grae, Noxa thumps and grinds with a vintage metal soul laced with a modernity that begs to unleash this larger-than-life rocker into stadium anthem territory. With a noticeable step-up with production amid streamlined arrangements, Noxa is certainly a tantalising taste of the new Bad Moon Born, while also thematically unpacking notions of guilt, negativity of the mind and altering perspectives.

Marking a huge new chapter for the Bad Moon Born gents, Noxa is an assured step into an altered yet exciting phase for the Sydney quintet - and no doubt there's plenty more to come in the near future from this lot. But in the meantime, go grab a listen and a look at the new track and video for Noxa, with more info here.
