SINGLE REVIEW: Take It From Me (CHASING VELVET)

SINGLE: Take It From Me // ARTIST: Chasing Velvet

If you find yourself constantly chasing for something off the beaten pop track, look no further than gleaming Brissie duo Chasing Velvet and their latest tune Take It From Me.

Drawing inspiration from pop powerhouses like Camila Cabello, Maroon 5 and Julia Michaels, Chasing Velvet (aka vocalist Amira Talbot and vocalist/drummer Naomi Grashuis) began in earnest in its current form in 2018. And marking a shift from their earlier material, their newest tune Take It From Me takes pop sensibilities and sharpens the edges with sparse textural landscapes drawling beneath moody tones and robust vocals.

Detailing the wavering uncertainty of a potential relationship, Take It From Me began to take form during the pair's first ever writing session together, and was eventually revisited when the ladies were developing their debut EP Replay. And wholly coming to life during a writing session with UK producer Reece Szabo, Take It From Me strikes a compelling balance between sassy pop and emotive scintillation and will be flitting around your ears long after the plinky rhythmics fizzle away.

CHASING VELVET'S GORGEOUS NEW TRACK TAKE IT FROM ME IS OUT AND ABOUT RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT BELOW, AND FOR MORE INFO HEAD HERE.
