Starting his musical journey in earnest back in 2016, Melbourne-based Singapore native Houg merges personal experience in a bewitching combo of chillwave, neo-pscyh, trip hop and beyond, as potently displayed on his most recent track ICBM. And while his self-produced and self-mastered debut EP The Oscillation Scene isn't due out until early next year, the man himself has today gifted a treat to tide your senses over with a brand new clip to accompany his new tune.
An earnest storyteller engaged with passionately displaying his emotional state via his hypnotic tones, it comes as no surprise that the new video is one of quirk and substance, painting a cautionary tale to betraying your own ideals to please others:
“The video is about finding contentment without losing oneself, presenting the journey of the protagonist losing himself in his quest for the acceptance of his peers. In his urgency on this journey, he finds himself cheating on his ideals, then struggling with the ramifications of guilt and accusation. It’s also my first time delving into animation, even if for only a brief moment in this video.” - Houg
