VIDEO PREMIERE: Where Did You Go (RIVER LANE)

ARMED WITH AN ABSORBING NEW SONIC DIRECTION, SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ARTIST RIVER LANE THROWS SOME MODERN CHARM INTO HER TYPICAL INDIE FOLK STYLINGS ON HER RECENT TUNE WHERE DID YOU GO, AND TODAY THE SOUNDCHECK IS PROUDLY PREMIERING THE ACCOMPANYING NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR THIS GORGEOUS TRACK.

With its husky vocals and shimmering synths, the latest outing from South Australian tradie-turned-muso River Lane picks up where she left off with her previous releases Ghost Of A Girl and Stronger. From the self-assured melodics to the addition of more electronic instrumentation, Where Did You Go also lyrically showcases River Lane's knack for spinning bleaker narratives into affable listening experiences, with the latest tune detailing the uncertainty of watching a loved one battle with mental health issues.

Introducing synths and an electronic drum kit for the first time in the River Lane history, Where Did You Go is a confident step towards River Lane cementing her artistic place in the world, and the brand new music video for the track came to be via a fortuitous creative exercise with director Matt Taylor:

"I didn't tell Matt Taylor (Director) what the song was about when I sent it to him. I just let him create his own meaning of it. I loved seeing the first cut. What he created was beautiful and made me feel my song in a different way. That's the beauty of art. It also fit in very well with the current social distancing laws haha" - River Lane

Perfectly evoking the themes laden in Where Did You Go as well as the overarching sense of uncertainty faced by us all right now, River Lane's brand new clip is a relevant yet peaceful delight.
