VIDEO Oxytoxic // ARTIST RACKETT
A one-woman metamorphic machine, Sydney powerhouse RACKETT brings her hyper-pop to the visual realm with a prismatic and meaningful music vid dropping this week for her sugarcoated jam Oxytoxic.
Proving herself as both an ongoing advocate for all things creative and sonic sparkles, Sydney's RACKETT (aka Rebecca Callander) has stepped boldly into the new decade with a fresh lease on her ever-burgeoning sound; part pop deity, part artistic permutation, RACKETT has drawn from her recent live journeys through Japan and Australia for her latest video adventure, resulting in a vivid and vivacious music video for recent tune Oxytoxic that celebrates both RACKETT's dazzling sounds and the LGBTQIA community in a barrel of vibrant style.
Inspired by sharing stages with performers from the trans community during her recent run of shows, RACKETT channeled her experiences into shining a light on some up-and-coming performers from the LGBTQIA community, and the localised inclusion of these artists within the main steam live music scene:
"Having toured my new hyper-pop live show throughout Japan and Australia sharing stages with performers from the trans community, I felt inspired by their unique creativity and on the last day of the tour in Melbourne, created a music video featuring a cast of queens on green screen" - Rebecca Callander, RACKETT
Featuring a sensational cast including Copper Feel, Bae Lamour, Krayola, Dazza and Keif and, of course, RACKETT aka Bec herself, Oxytoxic's visual adventure is as colourful as its source material, while also gifting a shimmering platform for some sensational moments with some sensational local talent. Produced, edited and directed by RACKETT at a LGBTQIA bar in Melbourne, this high-octance visual feast is a celebration of the unique talent and creativity in and beyond the RACKETT universe - and it marks a tasty sign of things to come from this mutant pop princess for her next endeavours.
