We all know The Beatles and their "more popular than Jesus" phase, and Sydney hard rockers Born Lion are taking Lennon's words to heart with a music vid and curated mini-festivals in honour of their latest track 'Bigger Than Jesus'.
With 2018 unveiling the Born Lion gent's sophomore full-length 'Celebrate the Lie', there was no rest for the wicked with the thumping quartet quickly swinging back into the thick of it with their new baby 'Bigger Than Jesus' - a rip-roaring rocker that equally paints the walls with the group's frantic energy while showcasing their sturdy-yet-angsty finesse.
Rising from the ashes of a tough time for the band personally, 'Bigger Than Jesus' is certainly one of the biggest tracks for the Born Lion lads, swiftly finding love from their fans and also sneaking its way onto Spotify's 'New Music Friday' playlist. And such a big track warrants a brain buster of a clip, as frontman John Bowker explains: "The clip follows a dude that feels he can improve his situation with some 'magic' pills. He soon learns it was all a hoax and the pills were merely a placebo. The final twist is that the whole simulation was really just an 8 bit video game being played by a stoned Jesus. Some inception sh#t right there!”
New music - tick. New video - tick. What could get bigger than that? Why, the band's own curated mini-festivals, of course, with Born Lion bringing their 'Bigger Than Jesus Fest' to Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong starting this weekend. This ain't one to miss if you're in town!
