NEW SINGLE: "Innocent Illiterate" (VESPER GREEN)

May 21, 2018

SINGLE: Innocent Illiterate
ARTIST: Vesper Green

Take a trip back to the glory days of the Seattle sound with 'Innocent Illiterate', the searing debut track from Brissie grunge lords Vesper Green.

--

Borrowing some coercive influences of the vintage grunge persuasion with a smattering of modern hard rock, Vesper Green have come out firing with their Nirvana-Pearl Jam-Soundgarden love child; 'Innocent Illiterate' is a dank and dingy delight that truly captures the raw distortion demanded by the grunge gods. And while the overall tone ain't nothing we haven't heard before, this pounding quartet tread the well-worn tracks of their influences with vigour and finesse - and it's hard not to get swept up in the screeching riffs and violent basslines.

Of the track, vocalist/guitarist Nick Ashby states that 'Innocent Illiterate' is “a song that declares our goal to create something with substance and depth, something that isn’t just juvenile and unartistic.” We all know Aussies can shred the alt-rock world like nobody's business, and Vesper Green are well-equipped to lead the bona-fide grunge renaissance.

'Innocent Illiterate' is out now on all the usual platforms - plus the Vesper Green boys have also busted out a clip to accompany the track, check it out below!
