SINGLE REVIEW: medicine (BRING ME THE HORIZON)

Bring me the electronica - UK rockers Bring Me The Horizon are kicking off 2019 with the release of a third single from their forthcoming sixth full length 'amo' unleashing on January 25th, and 'medicine' is a continuation of the group's continued evolution from their death metal roots.

Having already teased what's in store from 'amo' with earlier singles 'Mantra' and 'Wonderful Life' (featuring Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth), BMTH make good on their long-held efforts to evolve with each new release, a fact made abundantly clear with their latest release 'medicine'. Boasting a pop-tinged veneer, 'medicine' is lightyears away from the days of deathcore blasts and seething vocals; a fact that will either make or break the track for you depending on your sonic preferences.

But preferences aside, the accompanying clip for 'medicine' is a delightful mind-fuck featuring frontman Oli Sykes going literally head to head with various versions of himself while lyrically accosting the impact of negative people in your life.

Starting the new year armed with a new album, a Grammy nomination and a whole heap of shows to come (including Australia in April), there's little doubt Bring Me The Horizon will be continuing their domination over the next few months. And love it or loathe it, BMTH are certainly going to continue keep us on our toes in the near future.

'amo' IS DUE OUT JANUARY 25TH VIA RCA/SONY MUSIC AUSTRALIA. PRE-ORDERS FROM JB HI-FI ALSO COME WITH THE CHANCE TO WIN A DOUBLE PASS TO ONE OF BMTH'S AUSSIE SHOWS IN APRIL + A MEET AND GREET FOR THE WINNER AND A GUEST. FOR MORE INFO, HEAD HERE.
