SINGLE REVIEW: Docks (JACOB DIAMOND)

SINGLE: Docks ARTIST: Jacob Diamond Intriguing Perth alt-folk oddity Jacob Diamond has brought more of his sublime warmth to the table with his new single 'Docks'. Released in late May, the track is the first taste of new music since his EP 'Um' released this year - and 'Docks' is just as mesmerising as his earlier works. Diamond floats across undulating instrumentation, and while the vocals have a vulnerable tinge, there is a raw power lurking in his confident control. Throughout the track it's hard not to spy Diamond's musical theatre and jazz persuasions, but these influences only add to the charm as he ruminates on the uncertainties of life. Mixed, mastered and produced by Lachlan Carrick (Gotye, Ainslie Wills, Gretta Ray), this is an exciting first glance into Jacob Diamond's forthcoming debut full-length release, and he will also be taking this show on the road with a national single launch tour starting late June, more info below.
