SINGLE REVIEW: Never Did (KHANDALLAH & HUNTER DAVISON)

SINGLE: Never Did // ARTIST: Khandallah & Hunter Davison

Come fall into the enchanting worlds of NZ artists Khandallah and Hunter Davison with their dreamy new track 'Never Did' that sprung to life this week.

Inspired by the gut-wrenching reality of sudden and unexplained lost love, 'Never Did' is a short but sweet gem of sprinkled acoustics and honeyed vocals that transcends its deceptively simplistic stylings.

Embracing subtle yet sparkling production, 'Never Did' draws together artists

Khandallah and Hunter Davison, teaming up to conjure an ode to the confusion and self-doubt that accompanies an unexpected relationship breakdown, as Khandallah explains: "I took interest in the track because this was an experience that I've gone through several times, and it's something that I know whoever listens to the song would've gone through as well...The idea was to have a particular part of this experience be the anthem of the track - The realization that "One" has not done anything wrong is what is driven in the chorus".

Produced by mastermind William Pegg and featuring accompanying artwork by Puteri Dewhirst, 'Never Did' is a shining little beacon of cozy indie pop that embraces the "less is more policy" with charming results.
