Sittin' pretty on over 9 million streams for their sophomore LP Flip Phone Fantasy that released earlier this year, oddball overlords Ocean Grove have returned bearing a creamy stripped-back cut of the delightful Shimmer to whisk you away to a balmy dreamworld.
With their startlingly fresh sophomore album Flip Phone Fantasy debuting at #8 on the ARIA album chart, Ocean Grove have no doubt had a cracker 2020 despite the perilous surrounds that has accompanied the music industry. With an eclectic mixtape structure and a horde of fluctuating genre whispers threading throughout Flip Phone Fantasy, the flurry between chaos and calm was an undeniable highlight for many when the album first spun to life back in March. And while the track Shimmer was already a trek into new sonic waters for the OG lads, the band have stepped further outside their comfort zone with the brand new release of an acoustic version of Shimmer to tantalise your earholes.

While it's no surprise Ocean Grove have once again usurped expectation and convention with their latest endeavour, this stripped-back outing has certainly parted the veil into more intimate realms that the group have not previously granted passage into, and a heartfelt coup in their continued journey as one of the country's most engaging and enigmatic acts to grace whatever genre they turn their hands to.
