MUSIC NEWS: Prepare To Experience The Debut Album From X's For Eyes

X marks the spot for the debut album In Horrid Waves from X's For Eyes, aka the one-man-band project from Melbourne tech metal group Five Star Prison Cell's former drummer Marc Whitworth.

Due out on Wednesday 31 January via Owlripper Recordings, In Horrid Waves is set to unleash moments of scathing metal, noise electronics, brutal sludge and technical dexterity; think the bastard amalgamation of NIN, Converge, Meshuggah, Neurosis, DEP and the more experimental fare of Mike Patton, and you'll come close to imagining the beautiful mayhem that lies in wait.

Riding at the peak of the Australian metal wave until their dissolution in 2011, Five Star Prison Cell unleashed three highly acclaimed albums between 2005 and 2010, with Whitworth and the group taking out MusicOz’s 2006 award for Best Metal/Hardcore Artist alongside an imposing national and international touring support rap sheet with the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Danzig, Arch Enemy, Cephalic Carnage, The Black Dahlia Murder, Karnivool, Spiderbait and countless others.

“X’S FOR EYES came about from my endless yearning to create unique heavy music that is interesting to me. An avenue to explore negative internal thoughts; not to eradicate, but to revel in them.” Marc Whitworth.

If you like your tunes truly heavy with lashings of metal, industrial and noise; look no further than X's For Eyes. This is the album you're looking for.

In Horrid Waves is out this Wednesday 31 January via Owlripper Recordings.
