MUSIC NEWS: ICYMI, Yours Truly Light Things Up With A New Track & Tour Update

The lights are on and Yours Truly are well and truly home, with the effervescent Melbourne pop punkers this week unleashing a new track, accompanying video and confirmation of their hotly-anticipated rescheduled Aussie headline tour.

Fresh off igniting onstage at UNIFY last weekend, the rollicking quartet are continuing their winning streak with their insatiable new pocket rocket track Lights On; a fast and fun scorcher, clocking in just shy of three minutes packed full with bubbly instrumentals, driving beats and the powerful confection of vocalist Mikaila Delgado detailing a far-too-familiar trope of identity and discovering your true self.

"Lights On' is about challenging the way you view yourself and how much that is influenced by other people. Doing impulsive things to come off as adventurous and fun while you feel like you’re falling apart behind the scenes. I find it interesting when someone says “You’re not who I expected you to be” and when you sit with that for a while you start to think “what do I look like to others? Who am I to myself?”. I figured out during this pandemic that being alone with your thoughts is where you truly begin to unpack who you are to your core. I discovered that a lot of my identity is linked to being in this band. Naturally it's not a glamorous process, but it’s recognising that you can’t hide behind some story you made up to tell some stranger when you’re out drunk because the only person you are living with is yourself.” - Mikaila Delgado

With a cinematic accompanying music video, inspired by murder mysteries and filmed in Brighton in the UK, the Yours Truly 2022 chapter is continuing to rocket the Melbourne bunch to the stars; and helping them along the way is the announcement of the group's rescheduled headline Aussie tour dates, locked and loaded for November and December this year. Kicking off on the Gold Coast on Thursday November 24, the tour will wrap up in Tassie on Sunday December 18 - and overseas fans can also catch Yours Truly before then at Slam Dunk Festival 2022 in Leeds alongside Sum 41, Alexisonfire, The Used, The Bronx and MANY others, and they'll also be supporting Against The Current on their UK/EU run.

More info below, and go give the new video a spin while you're there - and if you want more Yours Truly x The Soundcheck action, check out the video chat Tiana and Mikaila had back in 2020 right here.
